Grassroots -- Get Involved!
Community Mobilization
Are you an individual, a community or church organization that would be willing to undertake a fundraiser to help create a home for children who have none? When we all work together, a little bit goes a long way, and we can accomplish so much!
Friends of Orphans and Vulnerable Children (FOVC) projects are aided and supported, in part, by groups and individuals who sponsor all kinds of fund-raising events and projects. Church and civic groups, clubs, schools, and businesses are all invited to help us in this important mission.
YOUR group can change the world for orphans and vulnerable children in Ethiopia! Contact us for more information!

Help Furnish the New Shanto Building
FOVC’s first goal is to improve the lives of Ethiopian orphans and vulnerable children. We are proud to announce that FOVC has been given over two acres of land by the local government. The site is beautiful and it's a spacious place for kids to learn and play.
Ethiopian Orphan Relief recently completed an orphanage / classroom building with five rooms to serve our orphans and school children. This beautiful building can help FOVC offer a superior level of care, nutritious food, medical attention, and educational opportunities to highly malnourished and diseased children. We offer many, many thanks to Ethiopian Orphan Relief for their tireless efforts to fund this project!
This year, we plan to show great love to kids in need by furnishing the building with school equipment, beds, blankets, desks and more. Please visit our donations page to make a gift for these dear kids who have already suffered too much.

When we purchase supplies in-country:
- we benefit the economy in Ethiopia;
- we are able to purchase culturally-correct materials;
- this is considered "best practice approach" in terms of economic development.
FRIENDS OF ORPHANS AND VULNERABLE CHILDREN (FOVC) works to enrich the lives of orphans by providing for their basic needs, including shelter /foster homes, food, medical care, quality education, cognitive and emotional development. We know we cannot save every orphan in Ethiopia, but by working together, we can make a difference.
This is a daunting task, no question. But we believe every child everywhere deserves good food, clean clothes, medical care, quality education and love. Kids in Shanto, Dale, Borcha and surrounding villages are waiting to hear us say, “We have enough to give you a place to live, food to eat, clothes to wear and a chance to go to school.”
If you can help in anyway, large or small, we ask you to contact us by email. There are so many ways to be involved! FOVC thanks you in advance for all that you will do on behalf of these children.
FOVC is a registered 501(c)3 organization.
